Tomasi Design specializes in custom cabinetry and furniture for both private residences and commercial spaces. We also offer finish carpentry, including installation of crown moldings, baseboards, interior doors, or any other architectural woodwork. Our focus is on creating beautiful, yet functional pieces that exceed the client’s vision.
At Tomasi Design, we’ll do our utmost to ensure that your customer experience is a memorable and smooth one. Simply give us a call and let us know what your needs are. If you feel a bit overwhelmed with all of the options, interior designers are available upon request for extra guidance. We do offer some design solutions as part of the cabinet/furniture-making process.
Next, we’ll set up a time to meet and discuss the details of the project. Then, we’ll create a drawing based on your specifications, and will provide you with a proposal. Upon acceptance of the price and drawing, just sign the proposal, send us a check for the deposit, and you’ll soon be on your way to enjoying your new custom furniture!
We work with exotic and domestic woods, sheet goods, metals, plastics, glass, and other pre-fabricated materials.
In cabinet planning, the use of CAD (computer-aided design) to generate sketches of the design concept can be very helpful; however, in furniture design this tends to be too non-specific, and can only be used as a starting point, unless we are designing very rectilinear furniture.
There really isn’t any substitute for seeing something before you as a 3-D object, being able to walk around it to get a sense of how it will fit in with your overall decor. Curvilinear furniture design generally requires a miniature model, full-scale mockup (usually of cardboard or another inexpensive material), or both to establish proportions and geometry.
As you can see, the process involves many steps to ensure that your furniture is designed exactly the way you intended, giving you a lifetime of comfort and joy.
